American Airlines AAdvantage® Program Auction Terms and Conditions

Thank you for visiting the American Airlines AAdvantage® Program Auction (the “Auction”), which is powered by Points.com and Truition. Submission of your AAdvantage® number and AA.com password on the American airlines website constitutes your acceptance of these Terms and Conditions, as such Terms and Conditions may be changed by American from time to time without notice or liability to you.
  • To participate in the Auction you must be an AAdvantage® member, an individual legally residing in the 50 United States and the District of Columbia who are 18 years of age or older at time of bidding, and you must have an AA.com password. To enroll in the AAdvantage® program please go to AA.com/enroll. To obtain an AA.com password, please visit www.aa.com/login/needPasswordAccess.do.
  • The only accepted method of payment for the Auction is AAdvantage® miles.
  • You may only bid on items and experiences made available through the Auction if you have a sufficient number of AAdvantage® miles in your AAdvantage® account. You may not bid on multiple auction items unless you have a sufficient number of miles in your AAdvantage® account. Additional AAdvantage® miles may be purchased at AA.com/buymiles.
  • If a bid is placed during the last five minutes of the auction for any one item, the scheduled closing time thereof shall be automatically extended for an additional five minutes from the time of the last bid. Such auction will close when there has been no bidding activity for a period of five minutes.
  • The winner of each auction will be determined by American Airlines or its designee in their sole discretion based upon the highest bid received prior to the final closing time of such auction.
  • If you are the winning bidder, AAdvantage® miles will be deducted automatically from your AAdvantage® account upon completion of the auction, and you will receive notification of your winning bid via telephone, email, or mail.
  • All purchases made through the Auction are final. No mileage refunds will be made.
  • The winning bidder must comply with all terms and conditions applicable to the relevant item or experience.
  • Allow 72 hours for the AAdvantage® miles redeemed pursuant to an online redemption transaction under the Auction to be deducted from your AAdvantage® Account. You can check your balance online by logging on to www.aa.com.
  • Additional fees, including government imposed fees and shipping costs, and additional terms and conditions including redemption restrictions (e.g., embargo dates), may apply to certain items and experiences made available through the Auction.
  • Inclusion of items or experiences in the Auction that have been provided by an unaffiliated entity does not imply any endorsement, sponsorship, or affiliation between American Airlines and such entity.
  • You acknowledge and agree that in order to process an auction; certain personal information about you may be disclosed to American, Points.com, Truition, and
  • the participant responsible for fulfillment, in accordance with American Airlines privacy policy. Please review American's privacy policy at www.aa.com/privacy. By participating in the Auction entrants hereby agree to the collection and usage of their personal information and acknowledge that they have read and accepted American’s privacy policy. The winning bidder may not resell items purchased through the Auction, and may not assign, transfer, re-market, or otherwise dispose of, an experience without obtaining American’s prior written consent.
  • All items and experiences made available through the Auction are being sold "AS IS" without warranties of any kind, unless expressly stated in the item description.
  • Availability of all items made available through the Auction are subject to change, and if any item becomes unavailable for any reason after the end of the auction, American Airlines reserves the right, at its discretion, to substitute a substantially similar item or refund miles to winning bidder.
  • If the performance of any service or obligation of American Airlines or any service provider making an item or experience available through the Auction, including with respect to any live experience, is prevented, delayed, restricted or interfered with by events or causes beyond their control, American Airlines or the applicable service provider shall be excused from the performance to the extent of the prevention, delay, restriction, or interference. You agree that if any of these prevent you from participating in a live experience, American Airlines or the applicable service provider is not obligated to provide or recreate such live experience and American Airlines reserves the right, at its discretion, to substitute a substantially similar experience or refund miles; paid by the winning bidder.
  • American Airlines reserves the right to correct any typographical errors including, with respect to the opening bid, and to make changes, corrections or improvements to each auction, and the description of each item, at any time without notice.
  • American reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to approve, or disapprove the participation of any member in the Auction, including on this website.
  • American Airlines and its affiliates are not responsible for lost, interrupted or unavailable network server or other connections, miscommunications, computer or technical failure, or incorrect or inaccurate bidding information howsoever caused or other error of any kind whether human, mechanical or electronic.
  • You agree to release, indemnify, defend and hold harmless, American Airlines and its subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, directors, agents and employees from and against any claim or cause of action arising out of his/her participation in the Auction, your use or receipt of any item, or your participation in an experience, including, but not limited to: (a) personal injury, property damage or other loss or costs sustained or incurred by the winning bidder; (b) technical errors related to computers, servers, providers, or telephone or network lines; or (c) errors in the administration of any auction.
  • NEITHER AMERICAN AIRLINES NOR ANYONE ELSE INVOLVED IN CREATING, PRODUCING OR DELIVERING THE AADVANTAGE® AUCTION, OR ANY ITEM, EXPERIENCE OR SERVICE RELATED THERETO, SHALL BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF ANY USE OF THE SITE, OR ANY AUCTION ITEM OR EXPERIENCE, OR THE INABILITY TO USE THE SITE, OR CLAIM ANY AUCTION ITEM OR EXPERIENCE.
  • You agree to indemnify, defend and hold American Airlines and its subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, directors, agents and employees harmless from any claim or demand, including reasonable attorney's fees, made by any third party due to or arising out of your breach of these terms and conditions or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party. American Airlines failure to act with respect to a breach by you or others does not waive its right to act with respect to subsequent or similar breaches.
  • Any disputes arising out of or related to the Auction or any single auction shall be handled individually without any class action, and shall be governed by, construed and enforced in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas.
  • American Airlines may at any time amend, modify or supplement any terms and conditions applicable to the Auction or any single auction, and your continued participation will constitute your acceptance of any such amendment, modification, or supplementation.
American Airlines reserves the right to change AAdvantage® program rules, regulations, travel awards and offers at any time without notice, including the right to, among other things, (1) modify or cancel any award or offer, (2) change program benefits, mileage levels or rules related to mileage credits or travel awards, or (3) add embargo dates, limit award travel seat availability, or otherwise restrict travel awards or offers. American may make these changes even if use of accumulated mileage credits or awards is affected. The accumulation of mileage credits does not entitle members to any vested rights. American further reserves the right to end the AAdvantage® program upon six months notice. AAdvantage® travel awards, mileage accrual and special offers are subject to government regulations.
